Sidney Crosby cleared for contact hockey

Sid the Kid is one step closer to making his return. It's been just over 11 months since he last played and he has just been cleared for contact in practice.

Here is an excerpt: "And with that statement by Sidney Crosby, the hockey world was all a-twitter with the possible return of the game’s biggest name.

Crosby uttered those words to Sam Kasan, one of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ official website writers, who tweets as @PensInsideScoop.

“It’s a big step but we’ll see how things go,” said Crosby.

Crosby took to the ice in a black helmet — the same colour as his Penguins teammates — a clear indication that it was okay to hit him. However, no one did.
